干式电解电导检测器适用于环境样品中低浓度氯化物和溴化物溶剂的检测以及其他痕量分析。上图中，DELCD 检测器安装在降压气相色谱仪 (Buck GC) 的 FID 和 PID 检测器旁边。
DELCD 的灵敏度与 ECD 非常相似，但对卤素的选择性更高，而对氧气则不敏感。Buck DELCD 与传统的湿式 ELCD 不同，它既不使用溶剂电解液，也不使用镍反应管，而是在气相中检测反应产物。在高灵敏度模式下（无氢气，使用干燥的气缸空气），DELCD 可以检测到低至皮克级的浓度。在此模式下，DELCD 的灵敏度比 FID/DELCD 高出约 100 倍。然而，高灵敏度 DELCD 容易受到高浓度氯化烃和碳氢化合物溶剂的污染。
将50 ppb的日本VOC标准品加入装有水的VOA样品瓶中，室温平衡45分钟，然后将1毫升顶空样品注入Buck GC的柱上进样器。FID色谱图显示了所有组分和溶剂。DELCD对溶剂无响应，PID未检测到1,1,1-TCA。
