低温冷却珀耳帖捕集阱本质上是一个夹在两个珀耳帖制冷器之间的加热捕集阱。低温冷却珀耳帖捕集阱还需要一个十通气体进样阀（单独出售）。当珀耳帖捕集阱富集样品时，十通阀处于“装载”位置。采样结束后，捕集阱被加热至150-200 ° C，并将阀门旋转至“进样”位置；这将使捕集阱置于载气流中，并将富集的分析物扫入色谱柱。
