Microvolume UV-Vis Spectrophotometer for DNA, RNA & Protein Quantification | Vision 8041

Microvolume UV-Vis Spectrophotometer for DNA, RNA & Protein Quantification | Vision 8041

Microdrop UV-Vis Spectroscopy

Maximum data. Minimum sample. Zero compromise.

The Vision 8041 redefines microvolume spectroscopy with stand-alone touchscreen operation and dual-mode flexibility. Requiring only 0.5–2 µL of sample, this compact instrument delivers research-grade precision across the full 190–1100 nm UV-Vis-NIR spectrum—no cuvettes required, no external PC needed, and results in under 4 seconds.

Key Advantages

  • Stand-Alone Operation: Integrated 7-inch color touchscreen interface—no external computer or separate software license required.
  • Dual Measurement Modes: Direct microvolume pedestal (0.5–2 µL) plus standard 10 mm cuvette port in a single instrument.
  • Ultra-Wide Dynamic Range: Quantify dsDNA from 2 ng/µL up to 37,500 ng/µL without manual dilution.
  • Instant Xenon Flash Light: No warmup required—instant boot and high-throughput spectral scans in 5 seconds.
  • High Spectral Resolution: 2048-element linear CMOS array providing 0.3 nm resolution and ±1 nm accuracy.
  • Sample Protection: Magnetic light-blocking cap prevents ambient interference and sample evaporation.

Dual-Mode Measurement Capability

Microvolume Pedestal Mode

Pipette 0.5–2 µL directly onto the pedestal. Surface tension forms a liquid column between the optical pins. Ideal for precious nucleic acid extracts, purified proteins, and small-volume samples without dilution.

Standard Cuvette Port

Built-in cuvette holder accommodates standard 10 mm pathlength cuvettes and microcuvettes for kinetics, bacterial OD600 growth monitoring, and low-concentration colorimetric assays.

Applications

Nucleic Acid Quantification

Accurate concentration and purity assessment (A260/A280, A260/A230 ratios) for genomic DNA, plasmid DNA, RNA, and oligonucleotides.

Protein Assays

Direct A280 absorbance for purified proteins, as well as colorimetric assays including Bradford, BCA, and Lowry methods.

Cell Culture OD600

Fast optical density measurements at 600 nm for monitoring bacterial and yeast culture growth phases.

Full UV-Vis Spectrum & Kinetics

Continuous spectral scans from 190 to 1100 nm for identifying unknowns, checking sample purity, and running time-course reactions.
