LIBS-CARBON-1064 | Handheld Carbon Analyzer for Metals & Alloys

LIBS-CARBON-1064 LIBS · CARBON · FIELD — Handheld Carbon Analyzer for Metals

LIBS-CARBON-1064 is a handheld Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) analyzer designed for instant carbon testing and alloy grade identification. Measure carbon in solid metals directly at the point of inspection, with results in approximately 1 second and no sample preparation.

Why carbon analysis matters: Carbon content is a critical factor in distinguishing carbon steel, low-alloy steel, stainless steel and other metal grades. Unlike conventional XRF analyzers, LIBS directly detects carbon and other light elements such as nitrogen, oxygen, lithium, beryllium and boron.

Direct Carbon Testing in the Field

Verify carbon steel and alloy grades directly on solid surfaces. Contact the probe, trigger the analysis and receive an immediate result. LIBS-CARBON-1064 supports rapid material verification across 400+ alloy grades and 13 matrix alloy families without laboratory transport, acid digestion or X-ray radiation.

Carbon Analysis Highlights

  • Primary Measurement: Direct carbon detection in solid metal and alloy samples
  • Light Elements: Detects C, N, O, Li, Be, B and other light elements
  • Analysis Speed: Approximately 1 second for rapid screening; 9 seconds for high-precision analysis
  • Detection Limit: 0.05%, element-dependent
  • Sample Preparation: None for direct testing of flat solid surfaces
  • Alloy Library: 13 matrix alloys and 400+ alloy grades
  • Radiation: Zero X-ray radiation; laser-based analysis
  • Weight: 2.5 kg including battery and argon capsule
  • Protection: IP54 dust and water protection
