Fully Automated Nitrogen Purging Concentrator

Fully Automated Nitrogen Purging Concentrator

Fully Automated Nitrogen Purging Concentrator — PrepN Series

Rapid, unattended sample concentration with vortex airflow and patented end-point detection.

192
Samples per batch (PrepN-96)
90 °C
Maximum water bath temperature
<20 min
Warm-up time (20 to 55 °C)

Why Automate Your Concentration Workflow

Manual nitrogen blow-down concentration requires constant attention: adjust needle height, monitor each tube, stop before dryness, and transfer to vials. One distracted moment means lost sample or cross-contamination.

Batch-to-batch consistency is poor, evaporation times vary, and analysts spend hours watching tubes instead of interpreting data. Over-drying and bumping are common risks.

With full automation:

Load tubes or well plates. Set temperature and pressure. Press start. Walk away. Optical end-point detection stops each channel precisely.

What the System Does

1
Load

Place tubes or 96-well plates into the rack. Supports 8 to 192 positions depending on model

2
Set Parameters

Program water bath temperature (ambient to 90 °C), purge pressure, and end-point volume via touchscreen

3
Nitrogen Purge

Vortex airflow technology delivers consistent gas flow to each needle. Automatic pressure regulation with gradient adjustment

4
Heat

Double-layer water bath or hot-air heating accelerates evaporation. Temperature monitored in real time

5
End-Point Detection

Patented optical sensor detects 0.5 mL or 1.0 mL residual volume per channel automatically. No over-drying

6
Collect

Samples concentrated directly in chromatography vials. No secondary transfer needed. Ready for LC-MS/MS or GC-MS/MS injection

Common Questions

What tube sizes are supported? -
PrepN-8/12/24/60 support 50 mL to 200 mL tubes plus dedicated chromatography vial tubes. PrepN-96 supports standard 96 deep-well and shallow-well plates. Built-in and external racks are available for all formats.
How does end-point detection work? +
A patented optical sensor monitors each channel individually. When the liquid level reaches the preset 0.5 mL or 1.0 mL mark, nitrogen flow to that channel stops automatically. No over-drying, no sample loss, no operator attendance required.
Can I change samples mid-run? +
Yes. Independent concentration paths do not interfere with each other. Samples can be changed in less than 30 seconds per channel without stopping the entire batch.
Is the nitrogen needle angle adjustable? +
Yes. Air nozzles are removable, and airflow angle plus left/right position can be precisely adjusted to match tube geometry and sample volume.
Can it connect to other NWSPEC systems? +
Yes. PrepN is designed for interconnection with other NWSPEC sample preparation systems such as PrepS and PrepV for seamless end-to-end workflows.
What gas supply is required? +
High-purity nitrogen or other inert gases are recommended. Minimum pressure 0.15 MPa (21 PSI), maximum allowable 0.31 MPa (45 PSI) for standard models and 0.8 MPa (116 PSI) for PrepN-96.
