Fully Automated Vacuum Parallel Concentrator

Fully Automated Vacuum Parallel Concentrator

Fully Automated Vacuum Parallel Concentrator — PrepV Series

Patented vacuum, heating, and shaking technology for rapid solvent evaporation with 100% recovery.

36
Samples processed simultaneously
100%
Solvent recovery via condensation
1 L
Maximum single-tube volume

Why Automate Your Vacuum Concentration Workflow

Manual rotary evaporation is slow and labor-intensive: set vacuum, adjust temperature, monitor each flask, stop before bumping, transfer to vial, and clean glassware. Solvent loss and cross-contamination are constant risks.

Parallel manual concentration of multiple samples is nearly impossible. Analysts babysit rotovaps for hours while throughput remains bottlenecked by the number of water baths and fume hoods available.

With full automation:

Load tubes. Set vacuum, temperature, and shake parameters. Press start. Collect concentrated samples and recovered solvent. Walk away.

What the System Does

1
Load

Place concentration tubes into the rack. Supports 9-position (1 L), 25-position (100–250 mL), or 36-position (100 mL) configurations

2
Seal and Vacuum

Individual tube vacuum seal assembly ensures independent pressure control per position. No cross-talk between samples

3
Heat and Shake

Double-layer water bath heating combined with eccentric shaking technology. Shake amplitude adjustable to match sample viscosity and volume

4
Condense and Recover

Efficient condensation system (single or double coil) recovers 100% of evaporative solvents into a recovery bottle. Protects lab personnel and environment

5
End-Point Detection

Optional patented optical sensor detects residual volume at 0.5 mL or 1.0 mL per tube. Stops heating and vacuum automatically per channel

6
Collect

Concentrated samples remain in detachable chromatography vial tubes. No secondary transfer. Ready for direct LC-MS/MS or GC-MS/MS injection

Common Questions

What tube sizes are supported? -
PrepV supports 100 mL, 150 mL, 200 mL, 250 mL, and 1 L concentration tubes. Both standard Quant tubes and detachable chromatography vial tubes are available. Built-in and external racks match each format.
How does the solvent recovery system work? +
An efficient condensation unit (single or double coil) captures evaporated solvent and channels it into a dedicated recovery bottle. Combined with a water cooling circulator, this achieves near 100% recovery and prevents harmful vapors from entering the lab atmosphere.
Can I adjust shaking intensity? +
Yes. The eccentric shaking amplitude is adjustable via a dedicated nut. Increase amplitude for viscous samples or high-boiling solvents; reduce it for delicate or low-volume samples.
Can I add or remove tubes during a run? +
Yes. The individual tube vacuum seal assembly allows one tube to be added or removed without suspending pressure relief for the entire system. Other samples continue concentrating uninterrupted.
What chiller and vacuum are recommended? +
A water cooling circulator (B-type) and dedicated vacuum unit are available as accessories. These complete the recommended configuration for maximum condensation efficiency and stable vacuum control.
Can it connect to other NWSPEC systems? +
Yes. PrepV is designed for combined use with other NWSPEC sample preparation systems such as PrepS and PrepN, enabling seamless extraction-to-concentration workflows without manual transfers.
