Precision Optical Tables with Active & Passive Vibration Isolation | Custom Configurations

Optical Tables, Breadboards & Supports

A complete range of optical tables, breadboards and vibration isolation supports — from mechanically leveled laboratory tables to active pneumatic isolation systems.

Every NWSPEC isolation table shares the same rigid tabletop construction: a welded steel honeycomb core with a high-permeability stainless-steel working surface, M6 threaded mounting holes on a 25 mm grid (25.4 mm imperial pitch on request), and tabletop flatness of 0.10 mm/m² over the entire surface. Choose the series by the isolation performance your application requires — every model number encodes its tabletop size, so configuring a complete table takes only two steps.

02 · Optical Tabletops

All NWSPEC optical tabletops use the same proven construction, available in three thicknesses — thicker tops are stiffer and heavier-duty:

Standard Construction

  • Precision Working Surface High-permeability stainless-steel top, flatness 0.10 mm/m² over the entire surface.
  • Universal Mounting Grid M6 threaded holes on a 25 mm grid across the full tabletop (25.4 mm imperial pitch on request).

Thickness Options

  • 100 mm Tabletops 900 × 600 · 1200 × 800 · 1500 × 900 mm; table height 800 mm.
  • 200 mm Tabletops 1800 × 1200 · 2000 × 1000 · 2000 × 1200 · 2400 × 1200 mm; table height 800 mm.

03 · Isolation Supports & Systems

Four support classes cover every requirement — from non-isolating rigid frames to active sub-hertz systems. All isolation tables use the standard tabletops above.

Series Support Class Isolation Principle Natural Freq. Load Capacity Recommended For
MLT Non-Isolating Rigid Mechanical leveling 500 – 800 kg General laboratory use; no special vibration requirements
RIT Passive Rubber isolators 5 – 7.5 Hz 500 – 800 kg Cost-effective isolation for moderate vibration environments
PST Passive Pre-stressed spring–rubber isolators 100 – 5000 kg Heavy or customized loads
MIP Passive Pneumatic Independent air cushions, manual inflation 2 – 3 Hz 50 – 3500 kg Pneumatic isolation where automatic leveling is not required
ABP Self-Leveling Pneumatic Pneumatic, auto-balancing system < 3 Hz 500 – 800 kg Precision laboratories needing automatic leveling
HAP-100 Self-Leveling Pneumatic Inverted-pendulum pneumatic isolation < 1 – 1.8 Hz 500 – 800 kg High-precision applications, sub-hertz isolation
HAP-100H Self-Leveling Pneumatic Heavy-duty pneumatic isolation < 1 – 1.8 Hz 1000 kg per cushion Large working surfaces and heavy instruments
HAP-100T Self-Leveling Pneumatic Low-profile pneumatic isolation < 1 – 1.8 Hz 500 – 800 kg Test systems requiring a low center of gravity
HAP-100A Active Active + passive hybrid (dual permanent-magnet) < 0.6 Hz 500 – 800 kg Ultra-low-frequency isolation and fastest settling

Non-Isolating & Passive

  • MLT — Rigid, Mechanically Leveled Rigid support table for general laboratory environments. Proven design refined over three generations and more than 30 years — ready to use, no air supply or utilities required.
  • RIT — Rubber Isolation Cylindrical / conical rubber elements between steel plates give a natural frequency of 5 – 7.5 Hz. Fully passive: no compressed air, no power, no maintenance.
  • PST — Pre-Stressed Spring–Rubber Preload holds the spring–rubber isolators within a stable linear-deflection range, providing effective isolation across a wide load range of 100 – 5000 kg.
  • MIP — Manual-Inflation Pneumatic Independent air cushions inflated separately. After a single inflation, pressure is maintained for six months to one year. Isolation efficiency typically above 97%.

Self-Leveling & Active

  • ABP — Auto-Balancing Pneumatic Automatic balancing with auto inflation/deflation keeps the tabletop level at all times. Attenuates 5 Hz and 10 Hz vibration by 80% and 96% respectively.
  • HAP-100 — Inverted-Pendulum Pneumatic Proprietary high-precision platform for demanding environments. Sub-hertz natural frequency; max relative displacement 0.22 – 0.70 nm. Rounded-corner, clean-safe design.
  • HAP-100H / HAP-100T — Heavy-Duty & Low-Profile HAP-100H: a single air cushion supports 1000 kg for large, heavy instruments. HAP-100T: low-tabletop design for tall or top-heavy test systems.
  • HAP-100A — Active Hybrid Dual permanent-magnet active isolators for the sub-3 Hz band: natural frequency < 0.6 Hz, settling after disturbance about 5× faster than passive systems. Protected by national invention patent No. 200310107922.4.

04 · Joined & Custom Platforms

As optical paths grow longer, isolation platforms must become larger and multi-sided. JPT rigid-platform joining technology realizes in-line, L, T and C configurations. Structural disturbance analysis and optimized joint design avoid the sharp drop in natural frequency typical of large joined tabletops — natural frequency < 1.1 Hz vertical, < 1.8 Hz horizontal. Load max 500 – 800 kg; max relative displacement 0.58 nm; flatness 0.10 mm/m².

How to Order

Two Steps to a Model Number

  • Step 1 — Choose Your Series Use the categories above to match your application to a series: breadboards (LBB, GRT), isolation supports (MLT, RIT, PST, MIP, ABP, HAP-100 / -100A / -100H / -100T), joined platforms (JPT) or workstations (ELP, CAS).
  • Step 2 — Choose Your Tabletop Size The model number is the series code plus a numeric code for the nominal tabletop dimensions in decimeters: ABP-2412 = ABP series, 2400 × 1200 mm; LBB-0609-50 = breadboard, 600 × 900 mm, 50 mm thick.

Options & Custom Requirements

  • Hole Pattern M6 thread on 25 mm grid (standard), or 1/4-20 on 25.4 mm grid.
  • Special Shapes Non-standard tabletop shapes, cut-outs and joined configurations (JPT).
  • Special Specifications Tabletops without pneumatic isolators, custom heights and load ratings.
  • Best Performance For ideal isolation, keep the payload below 50% of the rated maximum load and the instrument height below 50% of the table length.

Send us your model number or your application requirements — instrument, size, load, environment. Our engineers will confirm the configuration and provide a quotation.
