SAMPLE PRETREATMENT

The H6 is a sample pretreatment accessory that automates purge-and-trap headspace analysis for GC and GC-MS systems. It uses high-precision syringe sampling with helium/nitrogen purge gas, trapping volatile compounds from liquid or solid matrices for sensitive chromatographic detection.

System Integration: The H6 operates as a fully integrated pretreatment module within the Mx series GC/GC-MS method structure. All headspace parameters—including oven temperature, equilibration time, purge flow, and trap desorption—are edited in the same method file as column and detector settings. The XYZ robotic arm, bubble detector, and leak check work autonomously while the GC runs previous samples, maximizing throughput.
