This BaF2 38x19x4mm cell window is insoluble in water but soluble in acids. Barium Fluoride has a wider spectral range but is more sensitive to mechanical and thermal shock but is a relatively hard material. The working wavelength range for BaF2 is 66,600 - 782 cm-1.
